Mumble Servers
![]() |
Mumble is an open source, low-latency, high quality voice chat software. While it can be used for any kind of activity, it is primarily intended for gaming. It can be compared to programs like Ventrilo or TeamSpeak. Mumble has very low latency combined with good sound quality; it uses Speex extensively, not just the voice compression technology, but also the voice preprocessing to remove noise and improve clarity. |
The client runs on any Windows, Linux or Mac OS X machine. You need a microphone however!
Mumble has a unique overlay feature which will overlay the nicknames of users in the channel or users talking over your currently running game. That means you will be able to see who’s listening and talking ingame.
We believe in OpenSource products and support thier development anywhere we can. We believe that the mumble software suite while not as popular as the mainstream TeamSpeak and Ventrilo is as good as the commercial products. The fee’s we charge on this service cover the hardware and bandwidth only and as such, if you want the cheapest option available, check out mumble servers.
What makes Mumble better?
In a nutshell! Mumble has very low latency combined with good sound quality; it uses Speex extensively, not just the voice compression technology, but also the voice preprocessing to remove noise and improve clarity. Mumble also has positional audio for supported games, meaning the other players’ voice will come from the direction their character is in game.
Oh, and unlike many Voice providers with servers in Australia, we are Australian gamers! We live this stuff, we live here and just like you we love to game!
